The Challenge

Jira is used for the management of Teamtechnik’s software developer tests in the regulated MedTech environment. Two things were required to create reports: manually signed forms and handwritten reports to take to a machine onsite where no network connection is available.

On the one hand, the challenge was to model the reporting process itself in Jira; on the other, it was to minimize the influence on the qualification process.

The Solution

The team decided to implement more tasks in Jira and use Xporter for their reporting needs. The unrestricted, freeform design of the templates within their own corporate background and existing standard report templates addressed their two challenges.

While implementing the MedTech software developer test management system, other processes also improved by automatically filling out the templates. This was particularly useful when they needed to have signed paper forms or to take paper documents to a customer site for the maintenance of their machines.

Results

The use of Xporter in the MedTech environment enabled Teamtechnik to implement a similar use case in the After-Sales Service department where several forms can be provided appropriately. Other smaller use cases were achieved because of the availability of templates and the fast and efficient integration with Jira.

The main advantages are the deep integration of the core system and additional apps as well as the application of iterations over JQL queries. Overall, this provided the flexibility for customizations without deviating from a given software standard, where the maintenance on updates is minimal.
